How do I find out more?

We hold regular information meetings about our cohousing project. We welcome you to attend, so you can meet us and find out more about who we are and what we are doing. We also host weekend workshops on cohousing for people who want to explore the cohousing lifestyle. These workshops are required for equity membership.

Membership
When West Wind Harbour is completed, it will be strata title (condominium). While the project is under development, there are two formalized levels of membership: Associate and Equity Membership.

Associate Member – An Associate Member is someone who is considering joining the community and wants to find out more about the project. Associate Members pay a non- refundable $150 fee to help cover on-going costs for marketing, mailings, etc. Associate Members have access to all information that relates to the community and are encouraged to attend business meetings and participate on committees and task groups. This participation provides an opportunity to get to know the members, to become informed about past decisions and the cohousing process, and to determine whether the cohousing lifestyle is a good fit for them.

Equity Member – Equity Members are people who have a strong desire to directly influence the quality and design of their home and neighbourhood, who have a different vision about engaging in community than is found in conventional developments, and who are willing to take the time and make the financial commitments to realize their vision. Prior to committing to the process, they need to feel comfortable with the other members, be knowledgeable about their responsibilities and obligations, and have the ability to pay for a home in the community.
